Data sourced from USDA AMS
View USDA PDF VersionCompared to last week: Feeder steers under 600 lbs sold with higher undertones, over 600 lbs mostly steady except 950-1000 lbs 10.00 higher. Feeder heifers under 850 lbs mostly steady, over 850 lbs 7.00 to 10.00 higher. Very good demand for this large offering of high quality, very eye appealing steers and heifers. Many long strings of yearlings, including one consignment of 550 head. Many full loads and multiple load lots. Flesh condition light to moderate plus. As the CME Live and Feeder Cattle futures had another positive day, cattle feeders were feeling better about the coming months in the market, which resulted in a very active auction. Outgoing fed cattle have lost some money, but there is still plenty of interest in feeding cattle. Cash fed cattle topped at 238.00 last week, but many were bought at 235.00
