View USDA PDF Version***Close*** Compared to last week's light run, feeder steers and heifers sold steady to 3.00 higher. Steer calves sold 5.00-10.00 higher and heifer calves sold 10.00-15.00 higher. Demand was very good on moderate supply. Spring-like temperatures have melted the snow and ice allowing those who couldn't sell last week to sell today. The flesh condition on the bulk of the offering was appealing to the buyers and was an indication of the weather conditions these calves have endured. The cash market continued to remain strong even as the CME Cattle Futures traded lower on Tuesday. The largest draft of the day was 63 head of 927 lb. steers which sold for 330.00/cwt. Another stick-out draft was 25 head of 786 lb. replacement quality heifers which sold for 355.00/cwt.
