Iowa Direct Feeder Cattle, Iowa

Compared to last week: Feeder steers not established this week. Last week, feeder heifers were not tested, and too light of a comparison for a test this week. Demand is good. Cattle futures traded mostly higher on the week until the bottom fell out on Thursday. Markets have so far recovered some this morning. Slaughter cattle trade not yet established at the time of this report. Beef trade has been ho-hum and trading downward the last few days. The demand for steaks should be rising with the upcoming Valentine's Day holiday.
