Data sourced from USDA AMS
View USDA PDF VersionCompared to last week, receipts increased substantially as improved weather conditions allowed producers to market cattle. Supply consisted primarily of weaned calves. Demand was strong throughout the offering, with the light-weight grazing calves seeing the greatest interest. Due to last week's limited receipts caused by adverse weather, comparisons were limited and lightly tested. Feeder steers and feeder bulls sold $25.00 to $40.00 higher on an uneven comparison. Feeder heifers were not tested sufficiently to establish a market trend. Slaughter cattle experienced improved demand and sold $5.00 to $10.00 higher compared to last week.
